Thou Shalt Have No Other gods Before Me

Oh, Mr. President, if only you truly understood the meaning of this commandment. If only the media would heed it. If only the people who ate up his "Hope and Change" would truly get it.
But, they won't.
Why? Because, they do not see themselves as sinning, and they do not see themselves as being at enmity with God. Oh, yes...I am committing the big no-no of all no-no's: I am saying that our president is not a Christian. It goes beyond him and his family not settling into a church home yet. Simply put, Barack Hussein Obama BELIEVES that HE is god. He truly believes that he is somehow this...deity...sent to save us. My only question is,"Save us from WHAT,Mr. President?"
Sadly, there are plenty of people who also believe this. What ups this to the just-plain-scary level is, that many of those people go to church, and say that they are Christians. However, they do not trust God to provide, they trust the government to provide. They do not trust that the Creator of the Universe will bring them THROUGH calamities, they trust the Government of Egotistic Men to SAVE them from calamities. The media is not Christian, and has no shame in showing it, and they have no shame in worshipping men, men who are so much smaller than the great men who truly were to be admired.

Celebrity Big Mouths

Oh, the drama. First, Serena at the US Open harassed a line-man to the point that everyone thought that she was going to hit the poor woman. Said line woman is apparently still shook up. Next, a very drunk Kanye West stole Taylor Swift's moment by stealing the microphone from her, and raving about how Beyonce had made the best video of all time. Now, former President Jimmy Carter has re-opened a can of worms by calling Sen. Joe Wilson a racist. What do all of these people have in common, besides being major drama queens and annoying-people-who-just-won't-go-away? They all opened their mouths, and didn't think for one second about what was coming out. Serena took about 2 days to issue an apology, and even then, still didn't seem to think that she'd done anything wrong. Kanye blogged an apology, but anyone with even an iota of decency can see how fake that one was. Mr. Carter doesn't think that he said anything wrong, and continues to stand by what he said. If there's anything anyone can take from this, it is simply this: Watch your mouth, and if you say something insensitive or factually incorrect, be willing to apologize. Proverbs 10:18 & 19 says, "He that hideth hatred with lying lips, and he that uttereth slander is a fool. In the multitude of words there wanteth not sin: but he that refraineth his lips is wise." If only more people would heed this words.

The Prez's Speech?A Yawn, but Don't be Lulled to Sleep

Soooo, I watched the Great Messiah's-errrr, President Obama's address to Congress last night. I thought it was pretty revealing what he DIDN'T say. First off, what he said. He, in his grand, grand speech was trying to bring things to the middle of the road. He said that while there would be a government option, it WOULD NOT put insurance companies out of business. He also claimed that it would only be about $900 billion over 10 years(without adding a dime to the deficit), and that no illegal immigrants would get on the government plan. Theses are just a few of the high points, for those of you who couldn't stomach listening to him speak last night.
Mr. President, YOU ARE LYING AND I KNOW IT AND EVERYONE THAT HAS HALF A BRAIN KNOWS IT.
Okay, got that out of my system. First off, where did the president get that figure? And, how does he know that it WON'T add a dime to the deficit? Also, he claims that illegals will not be on the government plan. But, he has been talking about covering all these millions and millions of uninsured Americans for the past 2 years. Most experts, and most good ol' basic, bare minimum of looking at the numbers, agree, he is talking about covering the illegals. Mr. President, do I detect some double-speak?
Finally, the part about the insurance companies. Let's look at some basic facts concerning government vs. free enterprise, private sector, etc.,etc., etc. Let me be blunt: free markets can't compete with goverment. Let me say that again: free markets can't compete with goverment. Now, unlike some of the the geniuses on Capitol Hill, I've read SOME, not all, some of the healthcare bill. Probably about 100 pages. From what I read, it was clear to me that the sole purpose of the bill is to put private insurance companies out of business, and to put EVERYONE on the government plan. I know you are probably thinking, "Verity, how the heck do you know this? Prove it!" Here's the link to H.R. 3200. Read it for yourself, and think about how drasticly it would alter the landscape of America as we know it.
